Junior BP Award

Back to Badges and Awards

The Junior BP Award can be started when you have turned seven (but cannot be awarded to you until you are nine). It must be completed before your 18th birthday. Before you begin, you need to have made or renewed your Promise.

The Junior BP, BP and Queen’s Guide Award are all based on the Fundamentals of the Australian Guide Program. For the Junior BP Award, two activities from each of the first 6 area must be completed in order to receive the Award. The seventh fundamental, Leadership Development, is a continuing process which takes place as you work through the other activities.

The seven fundamental areas are:

  • Promise and Law
  • Guiding Traditions
  • Service
  • Outdoors
  • World Guiding
  • Patrol System
  • Leadership Development

After completing half of your Junior BP Award (which is six activities), you will be presented with the Bronze Endeavor for working so hard. When the remaining six activities have been completed you will be rewarded with your Junior BP Award and badge. There will be a special ceremony to congratulate you for your and hard work and effort.

Remember…

When working on the Junior BP Award, you are expected to challenge yourself at your highest personal level. You may wish to explore something new or extend on your knowledge, chose and plan your activities to suit your goals.
